    How the MapleStory iTCG game helped me and my brother grieve our uncle's death

    Me and my younger brother used to play a lot of MapleStory in it's highlight (around v62). In fact, it really took an important place during our childhood as we both grew up playing the game. We have made fond memories of it, and it's always been a significant piece of nostalgia for us when we talk about it.

    When my uncle died two days ago, I instantly drove back to my parents place to be with my family; but more importantly to be with my brother as he took all this badly. We both needed to take this off our minds with something that makes us both happy.

    So here we are, a Friday evening. I ask him if he still has all of our MapleStory iTCG cards we bought when it was a thing, about ten/twelve years ago. We were so much into the game that we asked our LGS to buy MapleStory cards, and surprisingly, they did! They had them for like a year and we were the only buyers. We took all the cards, sleeved them, read the rules and made our decks (we have enough cards for a warrior deck and a thief/bowman hybrid). They made a truly fun card game out of Maple. The rules look like they've been influenced a lot by Magic: The Gathering, but this game have enough different quirks and mechanics to make it feel like it's own thing.

    While we were playing, my brother put a long playlist of old school MapleStory OST and we had one of the most enjoyable and awesome nostalgia trip we both had in a long time. We knew where every song came from, where every monster on the cards was in the game, reminisced about old school Maple stuff, such as the trip from Ellinia to Orbis, the Orbis tower, PQ's, my guild, bosses, how El Nath looked scary, how Ludibrium was a facinating place to be and how we used to get stuck in Sleepywood at low levels just because we were exploring too deep; we just talked about how amusing the game was. We played for a couple of hours and would've easily went on if we weren't late into the night. Just the thought of the two of us, playing a cryptic ten years old card game that nobody plays anymore (and based on a game we love), warms my heart. It truly felt like going back to childhood.

    We are definitely hooked, and we would like to get our hands on more cards to play during Christmas. So if anybody knows how to get some in Canada, let me know please :). I don't know if it's the right sub to put this, but I wanted to share this little story that makes our grieving a bit better.

    Why does Kishin even need to exist?

    I'm sure this question has come up before, but has Nexon ever responded to why Kishin needs to even be in the game?

    It forces anybody that doesnt have access to dual PC to be at a disadvantage or have no choice but to farm on a Kanna.

    How would the game be harmed if it was simply removed?

    They could obviously buff global spawn rates a bit to compensate, at least people would have the freedom to play whatever class they enjoy.

    Pet Equipment Transfer Scroll

    Is it possible to scroll a blackheart earring equip with event pet scrolls then transfer it using the scroll to my current pet equip? I messed up my current one so it as 2 failed slots, 2 used, and 6 unused. (Scrolled for Matt and att like the idiot I am) Thanks

    Tera burn bossing mule

    I hate meso farming so I want to use tera burning to make a bossing mule. Ideally it would be a character that can be strong with very little funding. The characters I'm most interested in trying are demon slayer, aran, battle mage, and pathfinder. Are any of those good choices, or are there better ones?

    A couple of phantom questions

    I tera burned a phantom and spend some time stealing skills for it. May I ask some questions related to the stolen skills.

    1. For the 4th job mobbing skills, why only cannon bazooka and show down are recommended, I feel bowmasters arrow stream is more smooth to play with and marksmans piercing arrow has a longer horizontal range.

    2. Does F/P hyper aura worth stealing? I've spent some time in ch1 henesys, literally met every single class with skills I want to steal expect F/P mage (some honourable mentions: paladin, marksman and bishop, they are super rare as well). I tried to steal I/L frozen aura, but realised that it becomes a buff with only 30s duration and 60s CD, rather than a toggle skill, does this change apply to F/Ps aura? If so I don't think it's worth stealing.

    3. Unrelated, but why so few people play F/P mage, I see more Jett than F/P

    100ms, should I bother with pathfinder?

    As titles says. I'm clocking in at about 80-90(100 spikes) ping with maplestory. Pathfinder so far has been pretty fun but I tried using the macros and the 1st -> 2nd job macro barely works. Swapped it to 2nd -> 1st and it works better.

    I'm just wondering if I should bother leveling this or if the ping/macro issues are going to be an issue later on.

    I guess second question, is there a ping difference between reboot and Aurora or something? (gms). I may just have to swap to normal servers if that's a thing.
