few disclaimers this is an test server update, I'm a korean so the English is not smooth

In the test server they updated the red and black tier in the MVP (and there's nothing wrong with that the more you pay the more you get right?) but with the new tiers there came 2 new channels that can only be enter by MVP dia tiers and MVP red tiers each. This is problem no.1

The next one is they remove the MVP item named "경험치 뿌리기" (idk the name in english the effect is all of the player in the same map gets 1.5× exp) and made a new chair the same effect but only gave it to MVP black members and made it like the 250,275 chair you give fame you gain 1.5× exp (the person who has the chair can't get the buff) and thats problem no.2

and the main reason kms users are angry is they didn't make a balance patch for about 6 months (and this is about the time when the DPM maker stoped making the DPM list) and they messed up the world leap event, tried to reduce boss rewards of the 4 root abyss boss ect, and all that combined made this big thing of anger in kms users Any questions? I'll try to answer them

Banned 3x- Kanna Exorcist Skill?

Hey guys,

New returning player to maplestory 3 weeks ago. I trained a night lord to lvl 160 and then decided to make a Kanna. When I got to lvl 30 and started using the "Exorcists charm" skill, I got banned within 15-20 minutes for "hacking". I was dumbfounded. They denied my ban appeal and I am still talking with them

I made two new accounts today -both Kanna. After lvl 30 and using the exorcists charm skill, I got banned again...

Is this a known thing? I don't use any hacking software and I level up really slow. What should I do?

TLDR: Got banned 3 different times 15-20 minutes after using Kanna exorcist charm skill..

This is just a little rant with all the recent news we've been getting.

Nexon really is starting to seem like an incompetent company. It seems as though they are trying to remove everything that players like about the game. It's no wonder player rates are dropping.

They've announced the new changes to the MVP system, which completely breaks all reboot servers. (Players can't trade coupons, reboot is reliant on MVP buffs for late game leveling, legion system is already very difficult to achieve in reboot as it is) This change basically forces reboot players to invest in the game thus making a F2P server into a P2W server. Which NOBODY in reboot is going to be happy about and will most likely result in player loss. (The most popular server in the game).
They've announces changes to the familiar system. Which everyone is currently happy with their Big Spiders. My question is: why break something players are happy about that isn't broken?????
They've had an entire event that has just been a completely broken mess (mechanical hearts) and the company can't get its act together to fix the event (after an entire month with the event ending in 5 days).
A maintenance patch to fix bugs. That gets extended 3 hours and then fixes 0 bugs. LOL

Nexon is incompetent. Simple as that 😋 At this point I feel like a 10 year old running a lemonade stand could manage a company better than Nexon does.

I am an older Mapler and quit around BB. I'm just stumbling on the community to ask if anyone knows what happened with Tiger, Suuushi, and the Maple giants from the time. Maple made my childhood for a bit, but also kind of ruined it. It made me less social and made me spend way too much time trying to level up my sins or clerics, stole my parents' credit card to buy NX and spend money on Gach, so I'm much better off not having it in my life, but the experience was memorable enough to still wonder.

Please give advice to help a new player

Please I know everyone will say this has been asked a million times but I have been scanning online for 4 days now on near every source possible and still cannot come up with the best character to start with. Everything I read says different things so instead of telling me can everyone maybe clarify or help me understand a few things? I literally cannot start playing this until my OCD is satisfied with knowing I chose the more-or-less most efficient character to begin with. (In advance YES I know this sounds crazy to ask about a video game mmo! This is a mental health issue that is being addressed thoroughly. I enjoy starting efficiently and figuring out what I like best comes later on, its just how I am and thats what I find fun!)

So my goal is I am brand new and want to start a character. I am aware of link skills that stack for faster leveling on new characters. I am stuck between Mercedes, Evan, Aran, or Phantom to begin. Its 2020 and with the amount of different available characters to pick I figure I should just start with the most efficient one and find my best playstyle later.

I dont care about the playstyle as I plan to make alot of characters and will find the one I enjoy the most eventually. I simply want to know the opinions of the best characters to start with regarding bonuses to make concurrent characters faster to level.

I will be playing 95% F2P, unless I need to buy specific pets or items etc to start with I wont be buying exp boosts.

I plan to play on Bera server. Im not interested in endgame, just the best character to start a fresh account with for ease of progression into the next.

So basically Mercedes increases ur experience right, so is that the best? But then I hear it needs funding. I keep seeing Evan and Aran thrown around but everything dates back months and anything recent says Kanna... but then I see the exact opposite on another post!

Tldr; Brand new to Maplestory, deadset on playing for the longterm. What is the absolute best (or best 3 or 5 or whatever) character(s) to start off with in terms of link skills and progression into the next character. Bera server, 95%F2P, hours online everyday, playstyle does not matter. Cant find anything in recent months to confirm my case on what to choose first.

Thank you in advance if you can help me with this issue and I hope this sets the bar for anyone else looking to efficiently start playing this game! Im OCD, I have issues, and I know this has been asked a billion times but please, help me out if you think you know what the best character to play as of today is for a beginning player with limited funds. Everything I read contradicts the last thing I read. Thank you once more.

How's the community on that server? I've realized that I simply don't have the time to level up link mules etc on Reboot and am seriously considering moving over. All my OG characters from the years past(when I used to play) are on that server. Is the server at least some what active, like ursus and guild etc... Thanks for the information, have a great day!

Debating on spending money on 10k nx prepaid for mesos to make link mules but don't know yet. Only have like 7mill.

Don't have any other characters.

I had a lvl 220 mercedes and a 210 Cadena on GMS Reboot before I decided I didnt want meso farming to be my part time job. Since Im still a broke, lvl 1 adult, going p2w isnt exactly the best idea either.

Now I'm well aware these are not the best circumstances, hence the hiatus, but there a part of me that still at least wants to kill Lucid outside of story mode, and I still have never seen Arcana. If there has been any progression changes (other than dodging kanna bans) to meso gain and overall progression, please let me know.

EDIT: I also have a level 180 Kanna with meso gear (because I used to meso farm occasionally). Should I consider using it for other purposes (I dont fully know what an ArKanna is) since suicide farming is bannable or just abandon ship?

I know people say get range to 1-hit in drop gear. Does the region in arcane river matter? Like I can 2-hit at Chu Chu or 1-hit at VJ, should I be farming at VJ?
