    Cubing Experimental Probability Calculator

    Hello everyone!

    I have gone ahead and created a very thorough tool that will estimate, with a high degree of accuracy, how much it will cost to achieve a specific cubing goal.

    This was achieved via a combination of the following:

    1. Initially forking back-end logic setup via stripedypaper
    2. Data-mined cubing weight information (via Strategy Wiki)
    3. Collected Experimental Data (via jeffim source 1 and source 2) as well as various YouTube videos.

    For those interested in how this was developed, here is the important information:

    1. Via hours of YouYube video watching, the red cube tier up probability appears to be approximately (0.1, 0.05, 0.025, 0), whereas black cube rates are exactly double.
    2. Via tons of testing and Youtube Videos, the probability of a prime line with red cubes is (1, 0.15, 0.05) which yields a probability of 2+ prime lines of 19.25%. Via source 2, jeffim effectively showed that black cubes have approximately double the chance of having an item with 2 or more prime lines. By making the black cube prime line probabilities (1, 0.3, 0.1) the probability of achieving 2+ prime lines is 37% which is approximately double. Simply doubling each probability seems to be in line with the tier up probability ratios as well (between red and black cubes), which provides further evidence that these are in fact the correct rates.
    3. All lines were initially designed to be independent probabilities. Upon running results, and cross referencing them against source 1, all items lined up very well with the experimental data with the exception of: emblem, weapon, secondary, hat, and gloves. This suggested that these items had conditional probabilities. More specifically, hat and gloves were way overestimated, and WSE was was under estimated (when rolling for Boss%, ATT%, or IED%).
    4. For hat and gloves, the number of potential lines is way more than the other items. As such, I found if I applied a "difficulty multiplier" of 0.8 on each of these items, the values lined up very well with experimental data. Nexon must've made these easier to roll stats because otherwise, the expected cost is significantly higher than others.
    5. For ATT%, Boss%, IED%, Nexon must've assumed these were the most desirable stats, so made them harder to obtain than other lines. I algebraically solved the following difficulty multipliers and upon implementing them, all results lined up well with experimental data: Att%/Boss%/IED%: 1.4x harder to achieve 2 lines and 1.5x harder to land the third line, given that you already have 2 lines.

    After implementing all of this information, I believe this to be the most accurate tool to estimate one's cubing cost given the current available data.

    The Maple community as a whole is generally a great community. As members of this great community, we need to come together and rise up to defend ourselves. We're not here to defend the hackers/botters. We're here to defend the unfairly banned players. There are at least 70k users subscribed to this subreddit. We have strength in numbers. We have a voice. We have smegas. We have social media. We can send tickets. We can email Nexon. We can boycott the cash shop. We are the players. We need to show Nexon what happens when you treat your players like shit. You as an individual can do your part. Fight for your fellow Maplers as a community before Nexon comes for you.

    Another bow master main bites the dust to a false ban

    Heya maple reddit, I don't post here very often, but just wanted to put my few words in here as well. I tried logging in after reset today to be greeted by the great permaban: https://i.imgur.com/yFqbdQq.png

    Last thing I have done was coin capping, and being AFK for 2 hours waiting for maple relay. I did that relative late today, so I have been banned between the like 6-ish hours I have been offline (Between 18:00~2:00 UTC)

    Me and my friend were trying to struggle Damian and died out, this was on the night of weekly boss reset day.

    Normally when I see a lot of these "I have been banned" posts, I always feel like they come from people who "abuse" the game, like suicide kanna etc. But what is interesting is that this time it isn't even "abuse" but just generic stuff people are doing.

    I'll try talking to the support of nexon, and update this in the comments if there is any news, but I have very little faith.

    Disclaimer: This post is NOT an attack to the Nexon staff. If you believe criticism is offending reconsider your position in the internet since platform like these exist to speak out about various situations and should be done as long it's constructive and not blatant insulting. Additionally you do not have to believe me and I am not expecting you to believe me, simply because it's impossible. All informations in this post are 100% real and the confidence of my guild and my friends are enough to me to be believable. All names are purposely blurred out to prevent witch-hunting which is an explicit rule in this reddit, and all names are individual users.

    Getting quick to the point: My account has been permanently banned for breaking the ToS or Code of Conduct, specifically for using illegal third-party tools that would affect the gameplay of the game and were in use in the time of suspension. That is the 'reason' the support gave me after writing a ticket. But did I really do that? You can already think of the answer is no:

    I've been afking in the Unity Training Center, in the Mu Lung Dojo to grind some exp for my bowmaster MikoMutsuwa, whose been level 163 and even made a level-up shortly before I was banned. Before that I was already a long time online with my Xenon Enokumo to get some RISE points in the event map, I think the client was running for roughly 21 hours before it closed itself. Anyway since I had plenty of the Unity Training Center tickets left I wanted to give it to some of my mules, to get some exp since I am pretty lazy in getting legion up. so I think it happened around 9:40pm UTC where my account was suspected of hacking and where I have noticed it was closed, I was previously afk for 20-30 minutes. I was sorta expecting it was the typical crash from the GM police and relogged and saw that I was *actually* banned PERMANENTLY. I've been extremely confused and didn't understand what's going on so I was contacting the support regarding this case. And a few hours later I have received this reply:

    I really couldn't believe what I read in this moment. I was accused of botting in an afk map with no monster, no items and no other incentives at all. With tools that do not exist on my computer on a time I wasn't even in front of my computer. And honestly, that sounded in every single point wrong to me and was re-writing a new ticket to recheck my case. I got the recommendation to ask for a senior GM to check my case and was adding it to my conversation. A few hours later I got another answer from the support, this time from a senior GM:

    I have strong doubts this was thoroughly checked and found it quite naughty to expect me to "understand this matter". So I was writing a 3rd ticket to recheck it once more and consider the whole circumstances with what character I was online, in which map I was, how likely it is to hack there and so on. Because I am very certain that GMs can check these informations and it was most likely not done because it looks like another complaint someone was banned for actual hacking. Which I understand, but I refuse to accept my case is closed so quickly and not investigated properly.

    Although it sounds hilarious because so many other cases would be hit similary, such as pets looting too many items at once due lags, it is still the most likely reason for now, and I have added this possibility to my new new ticket, with the following answer:

    Basically almost equal to the 2nd reply with very few words replaced and telling me to *keep writing tickets* if I want to talk longer. In the latest ticket I started to doubt if they really checked my case at all, because so much is so weird to believe they can guarantee the ban is 100% valid under these circumstances, especially with the Nexon servers having more than enough lags that it's *MY* fault. So lastly they gave me the reply that all GMs agree with the decision, that I have supposedly violated the Terms of Service and that my privilege to create tickets will be taken away if I "abuse to contact them further" for this case:

    So basically I am the bad one because the system banned me and rely on this than listening to an innocent player who never had a single infringement over the nearly four years of playing on Reboot, and a total of 11 years starting to play on this account. I don't know who else to contact because it seems GMs would be the spot to go and I am getting banned for supposedly violating the ToS while others get unbanned despite of actual violating it, e.g. suicide kannas.

    So what did I lose by that? Well, it's not a small amount:

    more than 8000 hours of online time, 2500 hours were pure gameplay. 189 medals on a single character, a lot of them were event medals of course. 35 characters with most of them putting heart into it. A lot of friends I cannot contact otherwise for now. Access to my guild (although I can still communicate to them over discord but it's not the same). $3000-$3500 of money spend in the game. MANY items I was proud of having them, even if they were not useful or had no real purpose.

    While I am furious and really sad at the same time the only real loss is the access to game I wholeheartly love and started to play in 2009, and having this as memory leaves a very bitter taste to see the game in future. I am not going to play this game anymore and I almost feel bad that Maple 2 is now gone. Do yourself a favor and avoid maps where you passively get exp or other points or you might get banned too for hacking.

    I don't have that much time to play much ever day and I hated feeling pressured to cap...so I stopped. I just leveled my mules for fun and did arcane dailies on my main. It felt great.

    All of the banned account posts are scaring me

    I've been working on my mules through the Rise AFK event, and it seems like the only posts I see about it are people getting banned. I've had my account since 07, and haven't gotten banned on any single occasions that people have described.

    I'm currently at MVP diamond and invested a little too much during the quarantine (it's okay though). I am a little afraid to use the afk system due to the immense posts about people getting banned. Im assuming they're the minority that's just speaking out, right? Or is it just really showing how bad nexon's system is

    Which is about 50-60% between 230 and 234, and 30-35% at 235-239

    It's the total amount of EXP required to gain exactly 100% at lv 229 so based on the exp tables one would expect Rise Growth II (300 coins) to give ~33b exp and Rise Growth I (200 coins) to give ~6b exp, assuming they're used beyond their max level.

    In case anyone was wondering if it was worth using them on 230+

    Randomly in a boss fight, my Kaiser in final form goes back into normal human form (but the final form buff is still active top right next to all of the other buffs, so its not like the final form duration ran out), and during this time I'm softlocked and can't do anything (FJ, attack, etc). Can also see the larger final form tempest blades above me, indicating I still am in final form. After a few seconds, my character turns back into final form, and everything resumes as normal.

    Personally happened whilst I was running hdam and nwill. Occured like 2-3 times per boss fight. Heard from other Kaisers it happened to them during Lucid, and guild pq.

    Recreated this bug a few times. Only occured when I was bossing in a party, didn't happen when I was solo. Incase it matters, my boss party consisted of a Kanna, Mercedes, Pathfinder, Evan, DB, and myself as Kaiser.

    Banned

    So I log into the game after taking a break for a week or so due to work. Log into my account. Buy some nx to pull some books and I get out of cash shop and I am banned. Yes banned, apparently nexons detection system thinks that when its own client (useless piece of shit client btw) lags (like usual) that something fishy is going on and disconnects the user for hacking or whatever else. Keep in mind I never hack or do anything wrong, always been an upstanding and helping player too. I emailed nexon support and they stand by their decision. And yes I have checked all the screenshots that everyone else posts and its quite disgusting that GMS Support thinks its okay to copy and paste responses for every person that emails them regarding this. And yes I checked word for word the response from the GMs are the same. Like isn't it their job to check logs rather than just saying "we checked our logs and have confirmed that this account..."

    I know at least 5 people close to me that this has happened to, this is not okay. Please read this and learn that you can't stand by a flawed system. Just because your glitchy anti-cheat says something doesn't mean its true.

    TL;DR Nexon GMs strike again

    EDIT: After searching recent posts I have come to the conclusion that nexons anti-cheat has issues with Valorants Anti-cheat and that might be what triggers these bans for random reasons

    So I had a very terrible nexon support experience

    I would like to start off by saying I will be using the name "John Doe" instead of my real name.

    Last year, my maplestory account got hacked. The email got hacked and the nexon account got hacked as well. I didn't really notice because the email I used isn't one that I'm logged into so I don't get notifications on it. Fast forward to about 1 month ago, I try logging into maplestory (I quit for a while so I didn't notice till I tried logging in) and wow no account is associated with this email? So I try logging into the gmail and the password was wrong too. So I did a long process of recovering it through google and managed to get it back.

    Okay, so now I have my original email back and I'm contacting nexon support. For account verification questions, I provide them 10 names of characters that I remembered. I am also able to provide them with a LOT of purchase verification history. I was able to provide them with 2 Karma Koin purchases made off PCGAMESUPPLY with the code for the cards as well as the date. I was also able to give them 3 debit card transactions with the date and amount. With these transactions, I gave them the billing address and last 4 digits of my card as well. Another thing i'd like to note is that the original email used to create the account is JohnDoe126@gmail.com. I gave them my government ID which evidently enough has the same name as the email.

    So after 13 days, I am finally able to get a good response after being tossed around from GM to GM. And surprisingly, they tell me that they can't give the account back because my account verification questions are wrong. Of course, I remember when making the account that I didn't use my real name or birthday (who uses their real name or birthday amirite). I did let the support agent helping me know that this was probably the case and that did nothing of course haha. Just to end it, I didn't get my account back sadly :(

    I'm just surprised that even with the evidence I gave,I wasn't able to get it back. The original email being JohnDoe126@gmail.com and my government ID showing John Doe was also a big one but that isn't real much evidence. I'm also surprised at how terrible they are at replying (took 13 days because I kept getting tossed around)

    I probably have more to add but I just wanted to express my anger.

    Learning lesson: start using your real name and birthday lol

    TLDR: Account hacked, Gave a lot of purchase verification history to try and get it back. Couldn't get it back because I used fake alias and birthday.
