    GMS Familiar Drop and Legion Coupon Stack Test

    Another follow up to my previous post from yesterday.

    The initial purpose of my test was to determine whether there is a "100% consumables" internal cap lying under the "200% total", or if its "additional 100% cap from consumables". The results (as well as results from AbsoluteLuck1 at half the sample size) seem to indicate that the previously thought cap of "200% total" is not there.

    With test performed by jeffrey562, we can further infer that drop rate from item potential does indeed cap at 200%. Hence it could be that there is simply no internal cap from consumables for GMS.

    For this post, I've decided to cover 3 more different scenarios, mainly to test whether familiars are stacking with legion coupons. I ran the first 2 scenarios at 2 sets each in the effort of obtaining slightly higher consistency.

    My own test - part 2 (all showdown performed with 'mark' off for maximum consistency):

    <test I - A>

    • Item drop rate 110% (0% from main potential, 10% from Showdown, 100% from Large drop familiar)
    • Number of monsters killed - 568
    • Number of stones obtained - 122
    • Drop Rate-Approx. 21.48%

    <test I - B>

    • Item drop rate 110% (0% from main potential, 10% from Showdown, 100% from Large drop familiar)
    • Number of monsters killed - 630
    • Number of stones obtained - 138
    • Drop Rate-Approx. 21.91%

    <test II - A>

    • Item drop rate 160% (0% from main potential, 10% from Showdown, 100% from Large drop familiar, 50% from Legion's Luck)
    • Number of monsters killed - 568
    • Number of stones obtained - 148
    • Drop Rate-Approx. 26.06%

    <test II - B>

    • Item drop rate 160% (0% from main potential, 10% from Showdown, 100% from Large drop familiar, 50% from Legion's Luck)
    • Number of monsters killed - 630
    • Number of stones obtained - 171
    • Drop Rate-Approx. 27.14%

    Summary:

    Sample size: 1198

    Average Large Drop Familiars only Aprox. 21.69%

    Average Large Drop Familiars + Legion's Luck Aprox. 26.60%

    <Extra>

    • Item drop rate ???% (100% from Large drop familiar, 60% from Large hybrid familiar)
    • Number of monsters killed - 632
    • Number of stones obtained - 125
    • Drop Rate-Approx. 19.84%

    It's a little less than the expected drop rate, but seems materially different enough to infer that the effect from these 2 familiars doesn't stack.

    tl;dr: Noting the limited sample size, the test results seem to suggest that Familiar effects and Legion coupon effects do stack.

    What do you guys think? Appreciate if you guys have done similar testing too and willing to share the results, otherwise happy to discuss :)

    Should I swap to Reboot? (GMS)

    I am player hailing from Elysium, been playing in El Nido since 2011 and have way too many characters. I've recently came to terms with the fact that the amount of money I've poured into this game is down right unhealthy and decided I needed to make a change. The thought of moving to reboot has been spiralling in my head for a while now and wanted to ask what are some boons and banes to playing on reboot compared to the traditional servers and if you, the average player of reboot, recommend the swap. Will I need more than one PC to get anywhere? Will I make any friends? On a scale of bandicoot to 1929 how hard will I be crashing?

    tl;dr: Might move to reboot, but need pros and cons of playing reboot.

    Downloading Maplestory after not having played for 10+ years. Anyone wanna join me?

    Hey, quarantine's getting extended again in my country so I thought I'd download Maplestory again. I used to play pre BBB (I think that's the right term), when there were only 4 classes but I'm down to see what the new classes have to offer. There seems to be a lot of variety.

    Tengu boss fight

    Flame Tier Rates

    I've seen some statistics put together by players on cubing tier up rates and chances of obtaining certain combinations of lines based on observed results in large sample sizes.

    Has anything like this been created for flames? I'm specifically interested in the chances of landing tier 7 attack using eternal flames.

    Mitra’s Rebirth Flame Box

    Does this item provide 5 eternal flames each week for 9 weeks beginning the moment I get it from the Rise Fountain, or was it 5 each week for 9 weeks beginning the day it became available (August 5)?

    I.e. if I were to buy it now, would I only get 5 each week for 7 weeks?

    How to manage multiple buff?

    Hello guys

    Really sounds like a dumb question, but I will ask anyway.

    So, jobs like NW has like 5 buffs of 3 min. 3 out of 5 can be auto-buffed by multiple pets. How about the another 2? Do you just press the button and this is it ? Or exists another path that I don't know ?

    Can someone help, I came back after a year and Windia is gone. PIC expired, and it refuses to let me create a new PIC. I'm stuck in an endless circle and my tickets are not answered by humans, just redirected.
