    Following up from /u/cCityLoop's post from the other day, and this comment in particular.

    I wanted to make a summary of the findings, for quick, easy access.

    The main differences I can see from the StrategyWiki link and the current situation in GMS are that consumables can be used beyond the 200% cap, and that legion 2x isn't in the same category as other consumables.

    [Disclaimer: I am by no means a drop rate expert, and I'm sure I have misunderstood something, so please correct me in the comments]

    Category A+B: Shared 300% Maximum

    \Not sure why this distinction matters when A and B already have caps.*

    Category A: Shared 200% Maximum

    Equip Potentials

    Greed Pendant (Equip Drop Only)

    Category B: Shared 100% Maximum

    Consumables (Only 1):

    • Familiars
    • Use Drop 2x / Lucky Winter
    • Server 2x (Unconfirmed)

    \This means that any Use Drop 3x coupon will act as a 2x coupon.*

    Category C: Beyond Cap

    Cash Shop 2x (100%)

    Legion (50%)

    Holy Symbol/DHS (30%/24%)

    Wealth Acquisition (20% x 2)

    Inner Ability (2% - 20%)

    Please correct me if I'm wrong. I think many people would like to have an ultimate checklist of all their drop rate sources, and this could help a lot.

    Quick Reference Farming Checklist: (Brackets for Non-Reboot Sources)

    Long Term Goals: Inner Ability, Drop Rate Gear, (Monster Life)

    Just Before Farming: Equip Drop Gear, Enable HS Node, Setup Drop Familiars, Buy Legion Coupons, Make/Buy Wealth Acquisition Potions, (Buy CS Coupons)

    During Farming: Refresh Use Drop 2x/ Check on Familiars, Refresh Legion, Refresh Wealth twice, (Refresh CS 2x)

    TL;DR: Basically use every source of drop rate available, except 2x Use doesn't stack with Familiars, and equips only go up to 200%.

    NightGhost Guide and the Activation of it

    I've decided to make this post because it has been a while and there's no clear solution to the matter. I've been struggling to understand how does the Kanna Skill NightGhost Guide works. In the description it says it should activate 30% of the time but I found some inconsistencies. That being said, Nexon wasn't very helpful and didn't really answer anything.
    The issues on the table are:

    1- There is no clear definition of which skills does activate the "NightGhost Guide". I've seen that it appears not to activate when using certain Skills, here are SOME examples I've been able to notice.
    "Exorcist's Charm" "Tengu Strike" "Ghost Yashka Boss(Not when summoned nor when hitting while in the map or even damage it does when dismiss)" "Falling Sakura" "Orochi Unbound" "Soul Bomb" "Shikigami Charm" and the summoned "Kishin Shoukan" Although the last one makes sense not to activate the "NightGhost Guide" Skill . Also the 5th job skills "Liberated Spirt Circle", "Spirit's Domain" "Summon Yuki-onna" and "Sengoku Force, Assemble" don't seem to activate it either, but I believe it is because they are higher level, so it would make sense but again, clarification would be nice.

    2- It appears that it is impossible to activate the skill "NightGhost Guide while airborne. This one I have video evidence since it's easy to test out and it is really weird. Maybe that is the reason "Exorcist's Charm" is not activating the skill, since it'll always make you attack in mid air. Either way, with bosses like Gloom that you need to jump and Attack and with skills that are needed to be in mid air to activate, I believe this is most likely a bug.

    3-There also appears to be a 2-3 seconds cooldown of Nightghost Guide because the activation of it always takes a while to happen again and it doesn't activate twice in a quick succession, (although in the video I show, battle analysis say it activated twice but the effect of increasing kishin only activated once) being that there is no such information on the skill description.

    4-Some people reported me that effect that increase summon time(like corsair legion effect) would increase the time of kishin in the map but not the effect of mobs spawn.

    Also, If any other community members found any other issues, please feel free to comment and post evidence if you have it.

    TL,DR: Nightghost is still not that clear and we're trying to get a lot of evidence to show nexon and maybe there is a chance they try to make it work.

    Do you guys think 275 will be enough to take on Darmoor when he comes out, or do you think the level cap will be raised to around 300?

    I know it's hard to say, but I'm not too well versed in the higher levels, the highest I have is around 210. In the end I guess we'll have to wait and see, though

    I kind of quit last year, but I say "kind of" because I haven't deleted Maplestory. IDK I'm somewhat tempted to come back and play casually since I've already invested my whole life and a bit of money into the game. And it's still very much a cute game with cute, nostalgic aesthetics. Is the game still a grind fest of just leveling and farming money? Is there any new content or future direction toward (real) party play activities or jump quests?

    IDK I'm playing another MMO and it's still naturally grindy, but I felt it to be a bit more engaging in terms of money grinding and social interaction, except it's lacking in content; whereas Maplestory has more content— though a lot of it may just be useless filler or narrative content. Why can't companies just design a good MMO smh

    Reboot or normal server when playing super casually with SO?

    I know the question has been asked to death -I've read quite a few threads that can generally be summed up as 'Reboot for F2P, Normal for P2W'. However, I haven't found an answer that addresses a few factors involved in my situation. Some advice on a few points would be really appreciated.

    The questions/factors I'm still wondering about:

    • What's the best server if you're looking to play together most of the time?
      • A lot of the Q/As on this topic seem geared towards solo play. However, we're pretty much always playing as a pair, and usually like to pool resources. Reboot has been a bit of a strange experience so far because of it.
    • What's the best server if you're super casual/play periodically?
      • We basically play for nostalgia and 'chill and chat' - quick progress/getting good is not very high priority. We probably 1-3 hours a day, erratically per week for a few months. Logging in daily is probably doable, but playing daily is probably not.
    • Which lets you get further while being both casual and largely F2P?
      • Most answers I've seen focus on how to progress to endgame, which is low priority for us. We're more likely to start new characters/classes upon hitting a progression wall than find a way over it, but we would like to see as much as we can.

    Any time I try to join a guild, immediately after clicking the join request button, I get a message saying my request was accepted, but my request is still pending, and the game says I'm not in a guild.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Crashing as soon as choosing a server

    Its happened for the last 4 hours to me and a friend of mine.

    Everytime we launch maple story and choose server the game insta crashes with no message or anything.

    Anybody else experiencing this or knows a workaround to this problem?

    No fishing tutorial quest in the lightbulb?

    I'm just wondering if anyone has met the same problem - I cannot find the lv33 fishing tutorial quest on my lv200 adele account. It's not in the lightbulb and I don't remember of finishing it. I've tried googling it but didn't find similar cases. Since I didn't finish the tutorial quest, there's no "Go to Angler's Rest" option on the fishing UI and I can't get access to the content. I know not many people are actually using it, including me, but it's just so annoying if I can't get to the content at all. Anyone has an idea?
