    Hello,

    I am quitting Maplestory after having losing everything to a hacker. I have been messaging the support team for roughly 2 months asking for help in retrieving what is lost. I went through multiple tickets with each reply taking at LEAST A WEEK to respond. I have TRIED and WAITED patiently for their help but to no avail, it seems as though it did not matter. The general replies I have been getting are best summarized as, "any additional assistance that we are able to provide to you; we will not be able to restore or recover any additional items beyond that which you were already provided. " The only items that support has been able to recover are items that were dropped on the ground such as clean gollux belts and pendants. As a result, I have pretty much lost all hope for my account.

    Despite this, Maplestory has brought a very fun and refreshing take on the 5 years I have played. It is no exaggeration to say that it has given life on the days that were depressing and unspeakable joys just seeing my character progress ever so slightly. The days I stayed up just chatting with random people in Henesys, or goofing off with a bunch of buddies; it will all be remembered as part of a precious memory. It has been an honour, fulfilling a legacy that I thought would continue on for as long as this game kept going. However, an unfortunately end is cut off short where the book to the story must comes to a close now.

    And for this, I would like to thank Maplestory. Thank you for the memories, thank you for the time, thank you for continuing to support this game. Everything this game has given me is precious and it something I am very thankful for. I am a single Mapler who tried to express his feelings but I believe anyone who has played this game long enough; has the exact same thankful expression in their consciousness.

    Thank you Maplestory. Thank you Silkies. You will always be cherished and live on within me.

    TL;DR
    Sick buff.
    Imagine losing 20% damage from your character sheet, and having all your Demon Lash skills to have 80% more points in damage, while getting a 43% final damage buff for Demon Lash. That's your DS after this patch.

    I've heard this from someone recently, but I cannot recall who. Tried to see if there's a post about I only found one which didn't get much traction, so I thought it would be good to bring forward again.

    When extracting familiars, I'm sure many of you encountered the annoying bug of the game freezing. However, if you quickly press escape (or mash if you're like me), you can quickly close the menu and the animation, while the extraction still pulls through. According to the one other post I found, it should work on black flames as well. (Although I hadn't used one ever, so I cannot confirm)

    Until this issue is fixed, this might be a good way to work around the lag or the potential "Banned by HackPolice" that occurs when the client detects excessive lag.

    How do I enjoy the game with friends?

    Just came back to MS and my friends and I have started on Reboot. We are around level 90 and have not been able to really play together yet. We tried grinding together but exp is better solo. We aren't maple vets so I would appreciate if someone can let us know what content onward can actually be done in groups and wouldn't hinder us too much.

    Do you regret playing Maplestory?

    This goes to all: New players, ''veteran'', pre-big bang, pre- pirates, pre-thieves and beta players.

    I don´t regret playing this game despite my addiction to it, eventually I quit for good years ago simply by finding a better game and a life lol.

    Personally the only thing I regret was maining a Priest.

    This is 15 years ago, back when Thieves didn´t exist, when you had to roll the dice for hours to get x/4/4/4 stats, when getting to level 30 took a whole month or more, when Perion ch1 was the Free Market

    Silly 9 year old me believed my brother when he said ´´you should be a cleric he can heal himself and is probably the best out of all classes´´

    Lol. Extremely weak damage, doomed to only fight undead with heal.

    Then 1 year later, 3rd job came out and things got a BIT better!, now I was doomed to always be with a Dragon Knight to be their heal slave on MDT or Himes, go lure the mobs with your heal while I wait and kill them to get most exp. (1/3 exp for healer only)

    Meanwhile the other mages could solo train anywhere they wanted with a nice amount of damage.

    And then when bossing all I had to do was press heal and get a miserable amount of exp from the boss! Yaay I would also get flammed if I tried to attack the boss even if I kept them fully healed (dealing crappy 1-2K damage while others were doing 5 - 8K, Yup that was being godly back in the day)

    The Boss Exp was split between all party members and of course, whoever did most damage would get most EXP. I remember I would get 10 - 30K exp from a 1mil Exp boss lol.

    And then when I finally reached level 80, I went to a Papulatos party as usual, turns out our carry (a female level 80 CB named xxLowxxDexxx a name ill never forget) was hacking and got us all banned for a whole month.

    During that month 4th job was released.

    By the time I was unbanned, all my rivals were already level 120, while I was still a Hs mule :(

    Funny story, we all were removed from the rankings, I sent a ticket to nexon begging to add me back to the rankings, I explained everything that happened and that none of us knew he was hacking. I got a big NO, you aint getting back to rankings.

    But guess what? the hacker somehow got back into the rankings like wtf.

    Time later after hours and hours of leeching at Squids or training with a DK at gobies, I finally got to 120! yaaay! Ressurect, a FREE DRAGON THAT DIDN´T REQUIERE AN EXPENSIVE SUMMONING ROCK HOLYSHT and finally an attack I could use to train.

    Then I tried to sell leech with my super duper genesis attack! yay, but meh, bishops are weak, i´d rather buy from a I/L mage who freezes all mobs and keeps me safe lol.

    Finally when I hit level 123 I gave my account to my IRL best friend I was tired of Maplestory and was ready to quit forever, he then ended up taking all my stuff and changing the PIN, then when I wanted to play again he refused to give me back my account. ( I could not get my account back since I forgot the password to the email, but years later the email was deleted and I remade it, so 3 years later I got back my old bishop)

    Too bad he forgot that back then, when he wanted to play in my account he offered me 10K nx to let him in my account, I accepted and he let me play his account, he had an assasin I wanted to play badly, he also gave me his parents credit card info to buy the 10K nx lol.

    I finally came back years later and made a new account, I made a Hunter which I enjoyed asf.

    To my surprise his account info was still the same, so I took back all my stuff, 200M he had on his main and my precious magicordar that he stole from my bishop. and also bought 50K NX with his parents credit card lol.

    During those times there was a hack that allowed you to do Magatia PQ alone and finish it in seconds, receiving all rewards and exp infinitely.

    I abused that on his account for days, got 1000+ 60% atk gloves scrolls and much more that I gave to my main account and I sold all that in the old Trade Market (The green button that allowed you to sell your items for nx to other players).

    Eventually his account was permanently banned and my newly created hunter was overfunded with an extreme amount of NX and Billions I got from those scrolls.

    Yes, I got my SWEET REVENGE, and since we stopped talking and he blocked me from FB years before I stole his stuff, he possibly never figured out who did all that.

    TLDR

    Could've had much more fun playing something else, a cleric was a terrible job. But I had spent so much time on that character that I didn't want to try other job. lol

    ​

    Oh well.

    But yeah thanks to Maplestory I pretty much learned English from 0 to 100% and merchanting through the 10+ years I played it, and I suppose eventually got me to learn how to use the internet and the computer lol even though it might be something small for nowdays era, it´s indeed a huge knowledge tool we have in advantage compared to the ´´boomers´´ generation.

    Id say all this is extremely invaluable for me today.

    I used to play Maplestory in the early 2000s and finally started playing again. I remember creating your character and then starting to fight and travel between cities to level up. Now when I play, it's just been unending quests in these empty portals that I can't get out of, and many times I level up just for clicking through a conversation "quest". How do I get out of here and out to the rest of the channel/map where the other players are?

    Are the servers having trouble?

    So I was just in game and all of a sudden it started lagging extremely bad.. it felt like i had 2000 ping.. I tried to restart and now everytime i pick a channel the game just crashes. anyone else having this problem?

    Weapon Soul Cast Time

    Background: I like speed. I don't like stopping, long cast animations, etc.

    I'm using a Lucid soul at the moment, and there's a 1.5-2 second animation to summon her. Do all summons activate this slowly? Are there faster souls that can keep up with my NW flow so I don't have to stop moving? Maybe any of the other purple souls? (aesthetics) Is there a way to animation cancel the summon perhaps?
