    Links to Compromised Accounts Leading to Bans

    Hello Reddit, Once again we have an interesting incident that is being swept under the rug. As it seems, previously a player created a thread that stated accounts were compromised and stripped of equipment: https://www.reddit.com/r/Maplestory/comments/ihrnme/security_issue_account_info_may_be_compromised/

    Two months later there has been a small ban wave that appears to be linked to the previous situation. Today we have 3 reported cases and the result of each player as well as the responses given by the Nexon Support team.

    Player 1: Permanently Banned

    Player 1 was regularly logging in to do their dailies as one normally would. Suddenly their account was disconnected, probably just the game crashing right? Instead Player 1 learned their account had been blocked for "Violating the ToS". Confused and panicked, they thought this must be a mistake on Nexon's part (as we all know Nexon is no stranger to past accidental ban waves). Player 1 submitted a ticket quickly to receive a response regarding this matter and here you can see their response as well as the automated responses generally given by the GMs handling the case: https://imgur.com/TLhmbpA

    Player 1 was denied their appeal and the GM handling the case gave a rather unprofessional response (paraphrased) : "Any other GM handling the case will give you the same response." Which essentially is telling Player 1 to stop bothering Player Support.

    As you will see, each of the players received the same ban, they all supposedly had ties to compromised accounts (friends/knowing the owner) and "Stole" items which resulted in said ban. Yet when it comes to evidence, Nexon is the type to pull the trigger and ask questions later. This was shown in the previous Frenzy scandal and eventually Nexon unbanned those group of players and kept things quiet.

    What is most interesting is the fact that Nexon claims the "stolen" items have been returned to their original owners, yet Player 1 has created/cubed/bought their items in Auction House and remains banned. We are unable to confirm their loss but Player 2 and Player 3 who were banned for a short time still have all their items up to this point and have been unbanned as of recent.

    What are Pure Equip Enhancement Scrolls?

    I scrolled past one of these in the AH today, and have never seen it before. Is it similar to a no-boom AEE? They're way cheaper than I remember AEE's being, but they specifically say that they don't destroy items, and they also don't say anywhere that they can't be used on tyrants. Am I missing something?
