    SuckHard's WSE Calculator

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 05:53 PM PDT

    Hello everyone!

I have gone ahead and created yet another calculator. If you are unfamiliar with my other tools they can all be found here, which includes a Cubing Calculator and a Star Force Calculator.

Today I am releasing the first version of my WSE Calculator which can be found here. What sets this tool apart from other WSE Calculators that have been released is as follows:

    1. Very easy to use in that it is incredibly intuitive and does not require any manual adding of stats, so you can make very accurate comparisons very quickly. This is due to the fact that all passive IED% buffs and DMG% buffs for every class is already built into the calculator.
    2. This calculator does not treat every class as equal! A lot of effort has gone in by receiving tons of guidance and feedback from main characters of every class of the game. By analyzing full rotation battle analysis data on high defense oak dummies, and taking into account both damage output ratios and specific IED% and DMG % bonuses for individual skills, this calculator strives to give you the best approximation of Hit Damage for your class.

    Notes:

    1. Currently, this calculator will determine Hit Damage based on your current stats. In other words, when you compare WSE setups, it will be personalized for your individual character based on your current stats and class.
    2. The optimization calculator is not yet complete. For now, only comparisons can be made between different WSE setups.
    3. Future additions to the calculator will include:
      1. The ability to determine the best possible WSE setup given your current stats.
      2. The ability to determine the best possible WSE setup for your class assuming you are end-game.
      3. The ability to add in party buffs and guild buffs for those trying to optimize damage output for hard boss partying.
      4. More accurate class data to better optimize damage for specific classes.
      5. For those players who are highly committed to truly discovering their absolute optimized WSE, my suggestion would be to use all of the tools the community has to offer in order to make the best informed decision. The more data you have, the better! On that note, another great resource you can reference is /u/Masterobert's WSE Comparison Calculator.

I hope you all enjoy this tool and I look forward to all of your feedback. Enjoy!

Nexon's DMT cube limit from a whales perspective.

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 09:33 AM PDT

So to give a little context, I'm a late-mid to early-end game funded player playing in regular server with all of my gears bpots and mainpots legendary.

The one thing that you need to realize about most whales who play this game is that, while we spend a large amount of money on the game, a lot of us don't spend money "recklessly" when there are opportunities to save. EX: using 5/10/15 sf events to 22* or waiting for 30% off SF to star stupidly expensive arcane gear. (note: I don't care if you think spending anything on this game is being reckless)

I have a feeling that this cube sale will be a complete disaster for the targeted whales that use DMT to cube their already legendary gear. I know of people who were ready to spend thousands this weekend that will probably end up spending nothing. I'm sure there will be exceptions to this, but alot of the whales/p2w players i know will never touch the 3 cube packs in a attempt to get good lines (especially on bpots). The odds of getting a 3L bpot with just 3 packs of the bonus cubes is not great by any means.

Personally I might buy out the black cube packages since I can't ruin already decent lines, but I know for a fact I will not spend anything on the bpot cubes. And I'm sure my endgame friends at reboot probably feel the same. Spend your hard earned meso on 3 packs of redcubes to probably mess up your gears mainpot?

Regardless, I'm by no means upset or angry at this decision to limit the sales but it does confuse me a great deal. I was prepared to spend a large amount of money but I guess i'll be using the NX I already have to buy 3 packs of black cubes. And I really hope there's no end game players who fall into the trap of buying more cubes outside the allotment of what is for sale...

[Beast Tamer] This is the worst nerf I've seen in my life

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 03:48 PM PDT

I'm a bit late in ranting about this topic. To be honest, I thought to make a post about it on the day that it happened but a combination of being bummed out and busy has stopped me. But nevertheless I just want to get this off my chest mostly for me more than anything else.

I made my Beast Tamer the last time they were available, excluding current events. My main attraction to them was that their Link Skill appealed to me, on top of their Legion mark being useful as well. I tried once before during their early years, but I quit it because I could not stand the playing style of Jaguar specifically. Their lack of avoidability in conjunction for how they functioned was very aggravating and unfun for me many years ago. Of course the game has changed much since then. The most recent Beast Tamer I made was far more successful since I made it all the way to level 210. Overall it is a very unique class that fills many niches in one character, and I like character designs like that in general.

Bear Mode is the most popular animal of choice for a good reason. In terms of bossing output, no other animal compares. I like Bear a little bit, but my personal problem with Bear is that I'm used to most warrior classes in Maplestory, and comparing Bear to other warriors make it more boring to play as compared to them. If Bear was the only animal to choose from I would not have nearly as much respect for BT as I do. I established that I am not fond of Jaguar, and since my goal was grinding to 210, Cat was not going to be useful for my solo venture. So my only choice for a secondary creature was Eka the Bird.

Several sources have told me that Bird was useless, but to put it simply, Bird was definitely the best second animal choice for me at the time. Yes, Formation Attack was/is an incredibly weak main attack compared to the other animals, but I worked around that setback by settling for more unorthodox mobs in earlier levels that have below average HP. A combination of finding weird maps that worked with helpful runes made the whole experience pretty decent for me. And the whole thing really started paying off once I gained access to 'Fly, Defense Formation, Tornado Flight and Baby Bombers'. Especially in the case of Defense formation, by the time I maxed that skill, I was one-shotting the appropriate mobs for my level, partially thanks to Hoyoung's Bravado boosting the burst. Baby Bombers, for whatever reason, was slightly weaker than DF, but its ability to hit more monsters still made it helpful. And then there was Tornado Flight which did well for clearing a Fury Totem map. Other than that, the main thing I did was use the Animal Switch right-click technique to Switch to Bear mode and do Commerci runs with max critical ratio. Overall, the experience was nice. They weren't overpowered or anything, but it was very entertaining and I regretted nothing; unlike my most recent Tera Burn grinding my Demon Avenger from 200-210 (Yikes, it's really rough for those guys towards the end)!

So naturally I was excited to learn that the Beast Tamer would get an update in the latest major patch. The fact that they specifically advertised that Baby Bombers was changing, along with a number of Bird moves really got me going. They are considered the weakest link compared to the other animals after all. What can possibly go wrong? That was my general mindset, ignoring the specifics in numbers until the patch actually dropped.

    CUT TO PRESENT TIME

The one good thing I can say about the bird changes was the fact that their four class buffs no longer stop you for a laggy animation. But the monkey paw for everything else that Nexon did to Eka was pretty devastating... Using the monster [Happy Erda] as an example, before the BT changes, Defense Formation was perfectly capable of one-shotting a single Happy Erda mob. Baby Bombers eventually did the same once I got enough Arcane Force. Now? Defense Formation arguably looks way cooler than it did before. The birds randomly crowstorm everything in your radius! But now, I would use an entire Fly duration and let Defense Formation do its work. When my lengthy Fly animation is over, everything the birds touched lost an eighth of their HP; effectively a half second of Formation Attack's damage. What that means is that it's literally faster to walk around like a linear drone to get anything done. For what purpose? You don't use Bird Mode to boss, so what did the change mean to accomplish? You can't even start putting points into Bird until level 30, so you can't even enjoy using it against first-job-tier mobs. And not only that, but Baby Bombers has been given a 3 second cooldown per cast, so your only other key attack has been padded in both damage and consistency. I genuinely want to know what the thought process that lead to this even was. I'm not even going to bother talking about their new Hyper Skill and Fifth Job decisions. The whole thing just made an already suffering class sink even lower. Cat Mode still has the mobbing capability of a 2nd job Hunter, and every other shortcoming that they had still apply, on top of buff sharing being tied to a hyper skill with a low duration..

The most I can say is that I'm glad I got to enjoy the Beast Tamer before all of this happened, but now I can no longer vouch for Eka being decent for levelling purposes. It ultimately left me no choice but to swap bird for cat just so there would be a point to playing it in the future. As it stands I feel sorry for any new BT player having to put up with Eka changes from the ground up. Maybe Jaguar got buffed in compensation? But I wouldn't know personally. But that's the end of this rant. Nexon has a trend for screwing people over on a daily basis, but usually it's to drain more money out of what remains of their fanbase. But this? I'm probably never going to understand.

In your opinion, what is the best solo bosser

    Posted: 01 Jul 2020 06:35 PM PDT

I don't know if it's an objective fact that a certain class is the best for doing bosses solo or not so I'm asking you guys.

What is the best class for solo bossing, with and without funding?

What is the best class for solo bossing, with a kitted out legion, and a barebones legion?

I just wanna make a character I can do a few bosses on by myself and to give that maple relay "fake absolab" weapon to pretty much.

My legion at the moment is barebones so I won't have anything to really back this character up, and I'm not exactly rolling in the mesos, probably only have 200 million tops across my characters at the moment.

I'm just curious what you guys would suggest. I'm working on legion slowly so eventually whatever I decide will be more powerful obviously.

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 01:08 AM PDT

    Hi guys,

Was just wondering if anyone logged a ticket with support during covid19 and how long it took to get a response.

I logged a ticket last saturday to change my email. I got a response on monday to send them the email I want it to be changed to, send it but I didnt get a reaction anymore. Its been about 4 days now. It does say that there was acitivity on the ticket yesterday but nothing changed and no reply was added. I feel like maybe I should try and close the ticket and open a new one.

Anyone that has experience with this? Thanks in advance!
