Nexon is legitimately going to do 3 block segment DMTS again instead of just all day, probably resulting in the exact same result

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 09:41 PM PDT

Like......seriously? I'm sure Nexon's "Code Optimization" will definitely fix this, just like how many times they fixed the much simpler Gollux portal bug, right? Or how they fixed the familiar system.

It's just truly astounding that they don't just do an all-day DMT instead of these stupid ass block segments. Why do they even do them? I can see no benefit from them as opposed to all day. It just creates problems in situations where they don't need to exist. We wouldn't need to have a 3rd DMT when this one's code optimization inevitably fails if they would just do it all day. Reboot servers can barely handle 2x XP/Drop events all day long, I'm betting "Code optimization" isn't the core issue here. I'm honestly just thinking that this is a joke, they can't be serious right? It's like having a round hole, a round peg, and a square peg then after the square peg doesn't fit, you decide to try the square peg again after you hit the square peg with a hammer a few times

    Link and Legion Checklist

Hey guys I spent a lot of time making this checklist for link skills and legion. https://imgur.com/a/NVH53d4

I think I fixed it so both pages are together now. Let me know any improvements that you can think of. Or any errors that I need to fix.

My idea was to either print and cross the levels out or cross levels out by using computer software.

Amazing BaM 4th V Skill Buffs

The usual dark shock teleport becomes the dark lightning teleport, effectively adding tons of damage to BaM's burst. It also increases TP distance, apparently. Also the iframe bug was fixed.

The video compares two BAs. Abyssal Lightning becomes 30.43% of BaM's burst.

    Ultimate Adele Guide

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 07:25 AM PDT

Disclaimer: This post is about unlocking the full potential of Adele and maximizing the damage with different combinations of her skill. This post is targeted to players who already have decent amount of knowledge on the game and players who are (planning to) maining Adele. I WILL NOT GO OVER THE BASICS OF THE BASICS. You should have basic understanding of Adele as a class as well as her skills before continuing. This post is based on my opinion, research and experiments. You might not/don't have to agree with me. Feel free to share any more tips/correct me in comment section. This account is a throwaway account. Excuse my English if I make any grammatical/structure mistakes. English is not my native language.

THIS IS A VERY DETAILED GUIDE, BUT AT THE SAME TIME VERY USEFUL. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME AND READ IF YOU'RE A SERIOUS ADELE PLAYER.

Hello, I'm an Adele player in GMS (EMS) Luna server. I want to remain anonymous, hence I made a throwaway account. Believe it or not, here are my achievements so far with Adele:

    - Solo normal lotus 14k STR (before getting the proper item set)

    - Solo easy lucid 21k STR (after getting the proper item set)

Now, I wasn't able to test chaos vellum, as I power leveled all the way and progressed way too far before I even do 10 root abyss bosses. However, I'm pretty positive that you will be able to solo chaos vellum at around 8k STR.

Before I continue, I would like to explain two acronym's that I will be using in this post:

IR-Rush: Impale + Resonance Rush combo. By doing this, you're able to move to a certain direction without having an aether crystal in a place you want to move to.

NB: Noble Summons + Aether Bloom. Using Noble Summons to gather all the Hunting Decree swords and Aether Bloom to do a massive burst on a single target enemy/multiple enemies in a small fixed place.

ALSO NOTE THERE WILL BE ADELE NERF COMING. I ALSO HANDLED SOME OF THE UPDATES HERE

    Managing swords (Hunting Decree)

NOTE: Aether Forge only activates if you have at least ONE sword in your inventory.

    Frenzy Farming:

In Farming, as long as you can one hit mobs, you may spam Hunting Decree and keep 6 swords at all times. If your sword count drops to 4 or if you don't have enough Aether Weaving (gauge) to summon all the swords, use Noble Summons to gather 20 Aether each. Make sure your sword hits an enemy. But in the upcoming patch, gathering Aether from Noble Summons will no longer be possible. Thus I highly recommend you to put your Hyper stat point on Resonance Rush - Efficiency. Not only this would allow you to save your Aether from IR-Rush combo, you will also obtain 20 Aether. Using IR-Rush combo along with skip cooldown, you are able to obtain a lot of Aether in a short period of time, especially while bossing (more explanation below).

Non-Frenzy Farming (DOES NOT APPLY AFTER ADELE NERF PATCH):

Some of you might be confused why I made a separate category for Non-Frenzy Farming. As a Non-Frenzy farmer myself, the following trick has been super useful: Always keep one sword (while having Aether Decree at 6 at all times). This allows Aether Forge to activate, as I mentioned above. Aether Forge is exactly timed with the mob spawn rate by default. What this basically means is that you can consistently clear the map with the same routine. E.g. always start clearing map with Aether Forge. Other things are mentioned in Frenzy Farming and applies the same.

    Bossing:

When it comes to managing swords in Bossing, I would say the only difficulty is that you need to consistently check/see how many swords you have pulled out. You NEVER want to pull out all of your swords, as Aether Forge won't activate. If you read the description of Aether Forge carefully, it states that it will attack 2 times per Aether Sword. Which means, the more swords you have, the more damage you will do with Aether Forge. This doesn't mean you should save Aether Swords at all times. Having Hunting Decree is stronger than extra 2 hits from Aether Forge. There are actually two ways of handling Hunting Decree in bossing:

    1. Spawning Aether Swords every time when it expires

You do not want to pull all your Aether Swords in the beginning of the boss fight. Slowly pull out each of your sword at around 6 - 7 seconds intervals and using the boss timer, summon your swords every 6 - 7 seconds. This allows you to maintain 2 - 3 aether swords WHILE having all 6 Aether Decree swords, giving you the most effective damage with both Aether Forge and Aether Decree.

    1. Timing 20 seconds and summoning all Swords at once

This is the "easier" way, but less effective than the other one. In the beginning of the boss fight, pull out all six of your swords and when they expire, summon all six again. This is less effective, because your Aether Forge won't do much damage right after you summon six swords (because you will be left with 1 sword only).

    Damaging Bosses:

If you use Resonance Rush on an enemy, you will get a Buff for 30 seconds (affected with buff duration) that increases your final damage by 5% (this is not addition, but multiplication) and 5% IED. This buff can be stacked 3 times. It's important to keep this buff at all times.

Use Shardbreaker in the beginning of the bossing and get 2 stacks of Resonance Rush. Get another stack using IR-Rush combo.

IMPORTANT WHEN DOING LOTUS PHASE 1:

You might be complaining that you can't use Resonance Rush in Lotus phase 1 because of the laser. If you use the IR-Rush combo diagonally down (down arrow + left/right arrow), you are able to get the stack without moving at all. Something you also want to note is that Resonance Rush is HALF TELEPORT. Resonance consists of multiple small teleports, which means if you are able to time it just right, you're able to go THROUGH the laser just with Resonance Rush.

When you're damaging the boss, use Plummet (after jump) every now and then. Plummet does 550% damage and hits 6 times. While Cleave only does 425% (after nerf: 375%) damage and hits 6 times. If you mix Plummet and Cleave, you will be able to do more damage, especially after the patch. Plummet also gets upgraded with Reign of Destruction in V Matrix, so you don't have to upgrade it separately (assuming you already upgraded Reign of Destruction. If you didn't, you SHOULD.). Plummet is also a trigger skill, so you will be able to activate Aether Forge with it as well.

Burst - "It's not about spamming skills"

When you're about to burst, use Infinity Blade, Ruin, etc, USE NB COMBO BEFORE YOU DO THIS. The reason why is when Nobble Summons hit an enemy, it gives the enemy IED 10% debuff. This also triggers Thief's Cunning (Explorer Thief link skill), which gives you additional damage. Thief's Cunning's cooldown is 20 seconds and Aether Bloom also has by default cooldown of 20 seconds. Now obviously, most of us has cooldown reduction from somewhere and perhaps also skip cooldown, so you might have to wait for Thief's cunning when bursting. But otherwise, you will ALWAYS GET THIEF'S CUNNING upon using NB Combo. DO NOT use Noble Summons on its own. This will lead to damage loss.

This is an example of how I burst:

Grave Proclamation -> Wait for Thief's Cunning -> Weapon Aura -> Divine Wrath -> Legacy Restoration -> Infinity Blade -> Terms and Conditions (Angelic Buster link skill) -> Blade Torrent -> NB combo (thief cunning activates here) -> Ruin -> Plummet/Cleave and NB combo when cooldown is ready

Now as I mentioned, this is just an example. I didn't include Reign of Destruction, because some bosses move from one place to another quickly, and you have to use this AFTER using a bind.

True Nobility - "It's like iframe that lasts 20 seconds"

A lot of people do not use this skill, nor even know the existence. At least that's what I observed. This is a very overpowered skill and you can theoretically block almost all damages that are based on your health. For example, if you're getting hit for 100% damage, but you have the shield from True Nobility, you will survive. This also applies 199% damage, as long as you have shield (you can get shield by getting hit by an attack that does less than 100% damage. Otherwise, you will just die. You can only ignore attacks and have even more shield, once you have a bit of shield. Get shield by using damage reduction with Aether Guard, if necessary. This way you can get shield even from an attack that does 100% damage). This is especially helpful in certain situations like fighting chaos vellum or lotus laser pattern, as you wouldn't receive any damage at all. To use this skill even more effective and easier, I recommend you putting your hyper stat point on True Nobility - Shield Reinforce.

Now that's all I got for this post. Here are some questions I'll answer before you ask:

Q: Which first line inner ability should I get?

Both Boss Damage 20% and Skip Cooldown is fine, but I would honestly aim for skip cooldown, if you are still resetting. The more often you can do IR-Rush with a bit of interval (using IR-rush combo doesn't give you Aether, so you have to Impale and wait until Aether crystal appears then Resonance Rush), the more Aether Weaving (gauge) you will get.

Q: You told me to put Hyper skill points on True Nobility - Shield Reinforce and Resonance Rush - Efficiency*! I'm left with almost no points! Which ones should I put points on?*

Now I would say Resonance Rush - Efficiency is a must (especially after nerf), while True Nobility - Shield Reinforce is optional (but if you often go party bossing, I would highly recommend you putting points on this). Here's how I used my points:

    Trigger - Reinforce

    Resonance Rush - Efficiency

    Reign of Destruction - Persist

Aether Bloom - Cooldown Cutter (using Aether Bloom often allows you to deal more damage)

    True Nobility - Reinforce

You might be surprised why I didn't put points on Trigger - Guard break or Trigger - Boss Rush. This is because these utility skills are just far more superior. Guard break and Boss Rush can be covered with items and legion while the other utility skills cannot. Besides, I don't think Boss Rush gets added to the whole boss damage rate of yours. If you're more of a solo bosser, I could imagine putting point on Boss Rush instead of True Nobility - Reinforce, however.

Q: WHO ARE YOU IN MAPLESTORY?!?!? WHAT'S YOUR IGN?!?

    I will remain anonymous. :)

In conclusion, some of you might be freaked out at how hard Adele is, but if you get used to it, it's really not that hard. If you're asking a following question: Is Dual Blade easier and stronger than Adele? then my answer would be: Yes. Definitely. BUT Adele has better utility skills, like True Nobility, Reign of Destruction, Aether Guard, Feather Float. In my opinion, I would honestly say Adele is a better bosser, if you are able to consistently pull off all the tricks that I mentioned above.

If you have any further questions, let me know. I will try to answer some of them, but if you're reading this after couple weeks, I don't think I will be able to, as this is just a throwaway account ;)

    Thanks for reading!!!

    Edit: Fixed minor grammar mistakes/unclearness

Non-Kanna Farmers ~ One week to prepare for DMT ~ REBOOT Net 1.94b

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 02:45 PM PDT

Maple Tour- 7 runs/per day for the full week (2 Free runs each day, 5 runs worth 300 maple points * 7 days = 10,500 maple points for the week). Buy the NX CREDIT (Karma Koin) go to regular server and buy the maple points coupon if you don't have enough maple points from the RISE event.

    • 1,334,469,675 mesos

Ursus (lets say you're like me and get 29 mill every run)

    • 87,000,000 * 7 = 609,000,000 mesos

This alone nets you 1,943,469,675 mesos

If you do daily bosses you can more than likely net more than 2b

Also if you train you can also get a couple more mesos

    Let's hope this DMT doesn't flop ;-;....

Disclaimer! If you don't start Maple Tour on Saturday you won't be able to collect the full run the day you need the mesos!!

Super proud of this run! Only 1 death, excluding doors, which was at the very end when webs were closing in. Not even 1140 AF yet, and low legion, so a much lower stat solo is possible. Also, I still don't have a Kaiserium yet, nor an Arcane weapon.

Review from someone who played MapleStory in the beginning, took a 10 year break, and just started playing again

    Posted: 10 Jul 2020 11:08 AM PDT

MapleStory was one of the first MMO experiences I ever had. I discovered it sometime in 2004, and I was in middle school. Prior, I mostly played xbox and nintendo, and hadn't yet experienced any games on PC. To say it was a formative gaming experience wouldn't do it justice - I became completely obsessed. I think of MS when I see that meme going around these days about choosing a type of game. I chose the game in which days blur into one another and you don't even know if you're having fun.

Everything about it was awesome. From trying to swindle my parents into throwing me $20 for nexon points to pulling all-nighters just to get my level 48 assassin to level 50, I became enthralled with every aspect of the game. The different roles you could choose. The free market. Joining a guild. Clicking incessantly at NPCs as party leader for PQs at Kerning City and Ludibrium to grind out those lower levels, as well as recruiting players because "I have an open channel". I worshipped LoOpedD (I played in Broa), Tiger, and the like and imagined that one day I'd garner their respect in this game. When I got to highschool, this game took a backseat to growing up for many years, but it always lingered on my mind.

Fast forward to quarantine, and suddenly I have time to revisit this cherished memory, only to fine so much of what made the game great has changed. There aren't hordes of players waiting for party quests on ch1, and the free market has ceased. Leveling up is no longer a laborious chore that took weeks to get a character to level 70. The difference in experience that that particular development redirection has created is mind-boggling, but not surprising considering that when new classes and job advancements started coming out, it made more sense to allow greater access for players to achieve higher levels of all these new classes quicker. But what you lose from that is the hard earned sense of achievement- being a high level doesn't mean anything like what it used to.

What hasn't changed are the nitpicky developer items that seemed so easy to fix, but Nexon clearly never cared to. Like the wild server instability (I created an Elysium character with this exact thought in mind, and it still takes on average 5-10 minutes to log in). And the nonsensical UI of the Cash Shop which, for the record, doesn't look like it changed a bit. There are NPCs from forgotten times just left there with nothing to contribute.

It seems that over the years, Nexon had chosen to prioritize the more glamorous aspects of the game rather than cater to the parts that made it such a wonderful world in the first place. I hesitate to say that it's been molested to the point of no return, because I am left in awe at the tight-knit quality of the core community that still plays this game. It's heart-warming to see, but I can't help feeling an extreme quality of loneliness when playing this game now. MapleStory was magic for me at one point in my life - but I've concluded that while a shell of that experience is still there, the magic within has mostly dried up.

Interested to see what others think, and if there are people from the early days still lurking on this sub upon which this message may resonate.

EDIT: the discussion sparked from this has been great, and encouraged me to continue on working toward the end game. Thanks for all your thoughts
